Mandatory Qualification
NYC DOHMH Small Animal Care and Handling Certificate:
All candidate offers for supervisory and primary care roles are contingent upon holding or obtaining a valid Small Animal Care and Handling Certificate issued by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) Health Academy.
General Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent (veterinary technician or animal science coursework is a plus).
Prior experience in a professional pet care setting (boarding, day care, veterinary clinic, or shelter).
Strong communication skills and attention to detail regarding animal behavioral cues, dietary needs, and sanitation standards.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
Flexibility to work shifts including weekends, holidays, and peak holiday travel seasons.
